NORD receives the silver sustainability certificate

This year again, NORD was assessed by the rating agency EcoVadis. The drive specialist achieved 68 out of 100 points and was awarded the silver sustainability certificate. The company improved compared to previous years and is well above the industry average.

“In the combined assessment, we rank among the top four percent of the electric motor, generator, transformer, and electricity distribution and switching equipment manufacturers assessed by EcoVadis”, explains Jörg Niermann, Head of Marketing at NORD. “This shows that our sustainability strategy pays off.” In the Environment category, Getriebebau NORD GmbH & Co. KG from Bargteheide even reached the top one percent; in the Sustainable procurement division, they ranked among the best 11 percent of the assessed companies.

Saving resources and protecting the environment

“Our aim is to harmonise economic efficiency and sustainability”, says Jörg Niermann. “Based on our Company Policy , we act with integrity and responsibility for the environment – locally and globally.” The NORD sustainability strategy does not only include a considerate and resource-saving approach to nature but also the development and manufacture of drive solutions for environmentally relevant industries such as wind energy, wastewater, recycling and biogas. The manufacturer’s energy-efficient drive systems are used in different industries to save energy and to reduce industrial CO₂ emissions. Moreover, NORD takes social responsibility towards its globally active employees, customers, suppliers and partners with its CSR measures.
